As the President of Quantum Spectrum Energy, Bradford Love handles all the logistics, legal, and regulatory matters in addition to streamlining the business process.
How did you get started in the energy industry?
I’m an entrepreneur and adrenaline junky. Besides handling Quantum Spectrum Energy’s day to day activities I am lead Linux kernel engineer for a NY based company producing video and TV hardware.
I also run an open source Linux consulting business and regular contributor to the Linux kernel. I’ve been on the board of directors for two non profits organizations working for public park land advocacy and I was an active member on an FCC technical advisory committee working towards open standards in the pay television industry.
I’m an avid downhill mountain biker, rock climber, backpacker, big mountain snowboarder, hobby photographer, and African safari aficionado. I can typically be found on either a snowboard or a bike, or somewhere deep in the bush, and have spent almost a month in Africa annually for six years in a row.
I started Quantum Spectrum Energy to empower friends working in the industry to accelerate their professional careers faster than they could working for someone else. I started as a complete outsider but have been consistently learning the ropes over three years of operation.
How long have you been a TEPA member?
We joined TEPA in August of 2019
Professional/personal bucket list item:
I’d like to climb the five tallest mountains in Africa.
Tell us something that most people don’t know about you!
I’m a complete computer nerd (well you might guess that after reading my story).
Favorite or most memorable part of your career:
After starting Quantum Spectrum Energy the most memorable part was signing our first three customers up during the first month of operation.
Pick one meal for the rest of your life:
Pizza, of course!
Best advice for someone new to our industry:
Perseverance is key. Business relationships are important and treating every potential customer with respect and working for their best interest is the way to make it through the long run.
The professional/personal value of your TEPA membership:
Supporting a professional organization and being an active member has helped me meet people and companies that would not have been possible as a former “outsider”. Seminars and conferences help keep me informed and are beneficial for me guiding my team into the future. I recommend joining TEPA to gain such useful knowledge and education.
