How did you get started in the energy industry?
I have been in this industry for 7 years. I started in a sales position at Simplified Power in 2013 and then moved into another roll as a pricing manager at Incite Energy in 2016 until the CSD Energy Advisors acquisition in late 2018. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to work for CSD Energy and for the constant growth and support, you know what they say- “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life”.
How long have you been a TEPA member?
CSD joined in 2014 and I have been a member since 2017.
Professional/personal bucket list item:
I just recently started the RJK Memorial Foundation, a non-profit organization that brings awareness to the devastation that addiction causes families. We have a goal of ending the Stigma around addiction & creating a community for those who have been impacted. I hope to create a legacy for my brother Ross & others who have lost to prescription opioid addiction. We are planning our first 5K fundraiser for next year and I hope this becomes a fundraiser that continues each year.
Tell us something that most people don’t know about you!
Kansas City born and raised (Go CHIEFS!!). I was in and out of beauty pageants during my childhood but, volleyball is my first love-I played for 10 years and though I love all things about being a girl, I am a huge tom boy at heart!
Favorite or most memorable part of your career:
When CSD Energy Advisors was named 2019-2020 ABC of the year by The Energy Professionals Association.
Best advice for someone new to our industry:
To be honest and trustworthy while building your relationships and network. You also need to be adaptable and take the measures to learn, grow, and expand your knowledge in an industry that is constantly developing and changing.
Pick one meal for the rest of your life:
I come from a large Italian family- It would have to be my Momo’s Basta with the Cucuzza, a side of homemade meatballs and a stuffed artichoke!
The professional/personal value of your TEPA membership:
You must take measures to learn, grow and expand your knowledge in an industry that is constantly changing, TEPA provides that platform and community for all of us. TEPA plays a huge role in exchanging knowledge throughout this industry and it is great to have an organization that your business can learn and grow from but that also exposes you to so many talented individuals.
Several of the individuals who I have met through TEPA have become great friends outside of work and TEPA has helped with maintaining and growing professional relationships as well.
