CRAIG WALL, E.M.P.

NE CHAPTER PRESIDENT

Craig Wall, Director of Supplier and Product Management, is responsible for the strategy, training, implementation, and overall growth of the energy services and commodity solutions provided through Patriot Energy Group. In the five years prior to becoming Director of Supplier and Product Management he held the position of Director of Energy Services,  where he lead the company’s solar, efficiency, and integrated solutions program development. Craig also had experience managing Patriot’s successful channel partner agency program, providing education, training, and assistance to support channel sales. In this role, he worked with clients to effectively manage their risk to volatile electricity and natural gas commodity markets.

Mike-Payne APPI Energy

MIKE PAYNE, E.M.P.

NE CHAPTER Vice president

As a managing partner of APPI Energy, Payne is responsible for the development and management of APPI Energy’s consulting services, corporate operations, and legal matters. He has advised commercial, governmental, institutional, industrial, and nonprofit clients. Payne provides energy market analysis, energy supply risk management, and energy supply contract negotiations. He regularly performs due diligence of energy suppliers and reviews regulatory markets. Prior to managing APPI Energy, Payne worked for 20 years in financial services, corporate management, and investment banking.

A Delaware native, Payne received a Bachelor of Arts with honors from Wake Forest University in 1978. He then received a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami School of Law in 1981 and a Master of Laws in Taxation from the George Washington University National Law Center, Washington, DC, in 1983. He has been a member of the Bar Association of the District of Columbia since 1982.

BILL CANNON, E.M.P.

NE CHAPTER SECRETARY

Bill Cannon began his career running two of the largest energy supply companies in North America, Constellation New Energy and Direct Energy. Following his career at Direct Energy, he helped build several energy advisory firms where he assisted almost every deregulated city’s skyline procure timely energy hedges. He successfully built these companies into global firms securing full global procurement portfolios for clients such as Terex, BF Goodrich, CBS and The Sony Corporation. Bill has taken all of those experiences to Choice Energy Services where he has created one of the largest national and global energy procurement consulting firms in the world. Clients include The Trump Organization, Prudential, Cushman and Wakefield, CBRE, Time Equities and the list goes on. Most recently Bill was appointed to Secretary of The Energy Professionals Association Northeast Chapter. He has been recognized in Forbes, Energy Risk Magazine, CNBC and Fox News.

MATTHEW T. KINNEY, E.M.P.

NE CHAPTER LEGISLATIVE/REGULATORY CO-CHAIR

Matt Kinney is Senior Counsel for Patriot Energy Group, a client-side energy procurement and management advisor. He is responsible for state PUC advocacy, monitoring, and compliance in Patriot’s North American footprint, as well as being the senior in-house legal counsel for the company, with a broad and varied practice area. Prior to his tenure with Patriot, he spent over 10 years in the competitive telecommunications industry, focused on state and federal regulatory advocacy, analysis, and compliance.

Matt received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Syracuse University, a Masters of Science in Education from Canisius College, and a Juris Doctorate from New England Law-Boston.

RAY PERRY, E.M.P.

NE CHAPTER EDUCATION CO-Chair

Ray Perry is the Founder and Managing Partner of NJGEC, a commercial energy management company headquartered in Parsippany, NJ.

Mr. Perry transitioned from a successful 25+ year investment banking career focused on the energy sector in 2008 into commercial energy management consulting where he leveraged his energy market and risk management experience to help build a successful solar energy company in central NJ.

Mr. Perry launched NJGEC in 2013. NJGEC provides holistic energy management planning for all sized companies on a local, regional and national scale. Shortly after launching NJGEC, Mr. Perry noticed a pattern where many of his sustainable energy clients were engaged in underperforming supply contracts. At the request of its largest client, NJGEC added energy sourcing to its business portfolio to capitalize on Mr. Perry’s vast energy market and risk management experience.

Following an energy marketing conference in 2015, Mr. Perry was approached by several TEPA NE board members and invited to join the TEPA NE board where he proudly serves as the co-chair of the education committee.

STEPHEN KING, E.M.P.

NE CHAPTER MEMBERSHIP Chair

Stephen King has over 20 years of regulated and deregulated energy experience including numerous positions in corporate management, sales and business development. He has served as Director of Sales at AEP, Vice President at Strategic Energy, Director of Sales with Constellation NewEnergy and currently fills the role of President of Sales at Transparent Energy a leading broker in the retail energy services.

Mr. King possesses extensive knowledge in all aspects of the energy industry.   Mr. King currently sits on the board of the New York Hospitality and Tourism Association and formerly was a board member of the Park Avenue Club as well as active in a myriad of charitable associations. Mr. King is a recognized leader within the industry with a long track record of success.

Javier-Barrios-Good-Energy

JAVIER BARRIOS, E.M.P.

SECRETARY & NE CHAPTER PAST PRESIDENT

Javier Barrios is a founding member and Managing Partner of Good Energy LP, a national consulting firm headquartered in New York City with offices in Dallas and several deregulated states. Mr. Barrios is an expert in Energy Management and Utility Procurement and represents several Fortune 1000 clients and large governmental institutions. For the last 18 years his company has specialized in energy procurement and energy efficiency, advising and consulting commercial and public sector clients across 21 states and Canada. Javier Barrios also serves as the Past President of the newly formed TEPA Northeast group where he supports TEPA’s plan and efforts to expand the organization nationally.

TEPA
