How did you get started in the energy industry?
I have an entrepreneurial mind that was shaped growing up in the family business. My background, including the drive and knowledge I gained working in regional and national sales management positions, inspired me to create company in deregulated energy that treated potential clients like my parents did in their business.
Listening to customers’ needs, finding the right solutions, acting with integrity and professionalism, and understanding a client’s success is yours – are the values that led to R-Square Correlations in 2011. Since then – and thousands of clients later – the commitments we made and realized have built the foundation of our organization that stands out in the energy industry.
My wife and I now teach these same values to our two sons, living and working in the Chicagoland area. Our family has now grown to include my R-Square Correlations team, as well as each of the clients we serve.

Best advice for someone new to our industry:
Your success will come through fostering relationships. With your prospects, with your customer, with your broker, with your suppliers. Put the customer first. Advocate for them. You will never fail doing that.

The professional/personal value of your TEPA membership:
TEPA is a great organization. We’ve had an opportunity to meet peers in the industry and form relationships that are valuable in the markets we are in, as well as the markets we aren’t. We’ve met and formed relationships with suppliers that have given us more options for our customers and contributed to our growth.
TEPA events have been informative, and the industry information and updates give us valuable training points to add to ours and to pass on to our people. I’d recommended TEPA membership to anyone in the industry for all the reasons above and would just say that membership will easily pay for itself in the first month if you network properly.
