How did you get started in the energy industry?
I decided it was time to get back into the business world as my first son was starting preschool, after being a stay at home Mom for a few years. I went to a recruiter in town and was fortunate enough to secure an interview with “this local energy company”. I remember leaving the interview completely confused about what this company did! Little did I know this local energy company would turn into a 20 year career!

How long have you been a TEPA member?
5+ years

Professional/personal bucket list item:
APPI Energy has provided me with many opportunities to accomplish several professional bucket list items over the past 20 years. Personal bucket list… there’s a lot! One I will share, rent an RV and travel across the country visiting the many great tourist areas from coast to coast.

Tell us something that most people don’t know about you!
I am an identical mirror image twin. My sister is right handed and I am left handed. Our parents didn’t know until we were born that they were having “two babies” as they didn’t perform sonograms “back then”. One other thing people don’t know is that I am an athlete, love to play basketball, volleyball and most sports.

Favorite or most memorable part of your career:
There are several, and most of them have be centered around our company gatherings for holidays or events. My most favorite was our Downtown Scavenger Hunt myself and a few colleagues created for the company. It was amazing and all had a blast!

Pick one meal for the rest of your life:
That’s easy! Comfort food of steak, mashed potatoes, asparagus and chocolate peanut butter pie!

Best advice for someone new to our industry:
Take it all in, there’s a lot of information to absorb. Ask questions, a lot of questions. Research and educate yourself any way you can. Utilize your supplier partnerships and industry colleagues for information and training. The energy industry is very fluid and a great industry to be a part of.

The professional/personal value of your TEPA membership:
TEPA has been a huge asset to me and APPI as it has paved the way for different opportunities in this industry as well as being an advocate for all sides, consumers, suppliers and consultants. TEPA has provided educational opportunities, events to broaden the energy experience, and is one of the best platforms for this industry that I have come to know. It enabled me to meet so many industry professionals, supplier representatives, vendor connections and more. TEPA and its members work cohesively to create new standards.
