HOUSTON – Jan 15, 2019 – A new national board, which took effect Jan. 1, 2019, has been elected for The Energy Professionals Association (TEPA). Huston Able, Exec. Vice President at Choice Energy Services, has been appointed as the National Board President and Javier Barrios, Managing Partner at Good Energy, as the National Vice President of the Association. The announcement was made during the 13th Annual TEPA Conference, which was held Sept. 19-20, 2018 in Houston, Texas. Able is succeeding Andrew Barth, Partner at CSD Energy Advisors, who served as the National Board President from 2016 to 2018.

It’s especially rewarding to have seen TEPA’s accelerated growth under Andrew and the national board’s leadership. Over the next two years we’ll continue to fulfill TEPA’s mission and become more efficient and effective in supporting the infrastructure of retail energy markets, embracing new technology and improving our education platform.”
In addition to Able and Barrios, the 2019 to 2021 TEPA National Board will include:
- Treasurer – Marilyn Fox: President at Fox, Smolen & Associates

Barrios, who is based in New York City, represents the first national board member outside Texas, where TEPA was founded. He was instrumental in growing TEPA’s membership across the Northeast and served as the founding president of the TEPA Northeast Chapter. “I appreciate the growth TEPA has seen over the last decade under some of the best leadership in our industry,” said Barrios. “Over the next two years, we’ll continue to amplify TEPA’s mission to the advancement of fair, competitive energy markets.”
Shannon McGriff, TEPA Director, will continue to manage the Association’s day-to-day operations, marketing and budget, as well as plan and organize monthly meetings and conferences throughout the year.
