Links Energy Partners Announces Exclusive Four-Year Partnership with NW to Support Energy Transition Across Texas

HOUSTON – May 10, 2023Links Energy Partners, a Texas-based Qualified Scheduling Entity (QSE) and national demand-side management company, announced today an exclusive four-year partnership with France-based NW that will support grid reliability and streamline the energy transition across Texas. As part of the agreement, Links will deploy NW’s JBox® distributed storage units to installations across the Lone Star State.

The largest electricity storage developer in France, NW’s propriety battery technology has been installed in nearly 300 sites and represents approximately 350 MW of storage across Europe. Developed in France with manufacturing and integration locations in the U.S., the JBox® distributed storage unit is expected to become a significant part of the energy transition across Texas.

“As the renewable energy mix continues to grow and impact the reliability of the electrical grid, it’s critical to have technology in place that will ensure grid stability,” said Jason Gunderson, president and founder of Links Energy Partners. “Our team is committed to helping solve that issue by bringing advanced sustainability technologies, as well as economic development opportunities, to American markets. Our partnership with NW will better ensure a stable energy transition as renewable technology becomes a greater part of our energy mix. We’re excited to leverage this battery storage solution in the projects we’re developing in ERCOT and across West Texas in the coming months.”

JBox® is a high performance modular, battery storage unit that can guarantee security and stability of the power grid. Often used in combination with EV charging systems, the “plug and play” unit can store up to 1 MW and 2 MWhs of power. JBox units, which will initially be installed in Texas, will be manufactured in the U.S.

“We’re honored to team up with Links Energy Partners in their efforts to create a more secure and stable power grid for Texans,” said Jean-Christophe Kerdelhué, founder and president of NW. “Jason and his team are equally passionate about providing sustainable solutions, as they are of increasing grid reliability. They have shown the operational expertise, as well as the deep market knowledge to make the energy transition accessible to everyone.”

Link Energy Partners expects the first delivery of JBox® storage units in late Q3 2023 with installation beginning on select sites across West Texas and in ERCOT.
